My butter-stealer Krishna, Who is young and wins the mind, is appearing and roaming like a swan in the lake [of Vraj]. The forests, creepers, fruits, flowers, and gardens of Vraja are shining forth due to the presence of Mukunda.||1||
The yellow robes over the cloud-like grey body
of Krishna appears as if a lightening-streak is dancing over a cloud.
His garland is beautiful, His flute is attractive, and His large
forehead is shining.||2||
All the organs of Krishna win the mind, His eyes
are like lotus, and His lips and cheeks are incomparable. The birds,
namely, cuckoos, cakka, cakora, and peacocks, are His friends and they
chirp in unison with what Hari says.||3||
[In Vraj], sometimes the flute melody flows, and
sometimes Krishna coaxes a bird holding her in His hand. Sometimes
Krishna walks with a colorful gait, and all the animals, cows and deers,
accompany Him.||4||
There are millions of poets and much more
comparisons and similes, but still the actual beauty of Kesava (Krishna)
is uncharacterized. In that case, what poem or story will Animesh tell
in which the immaculate beauty of Krishna is present in its totality?||5||
