dūdhaprasańga

suni maiyā maiḿ tau paya pīvauḿ

mohi adhika ruci āvai rī|

āju sabāraiḿ dhenu duhī maiḿ

vahai dūdha mohi pyāvai rī||1

aura dhenu ko dūdha na pīvauḿ

jo kari koṭi banāvai rī|

jananī kahati dūdha dhaurī kau

puni puni sauḿha karāvai rī||2

tuma taiḿ mohi aura ko pyārau

bāraḿbāra manāvai rī|

sūra syāma kauḿ paya dhaurī kau

mātā hita sauḿ lyāvai rī||3

Dūdhaprasańga

[Kṛṣṇa says] O Mother! I will drink milk only on the condition that it will taste very nice; bring the milk which I milched out of the cow — feed me only that milk.||1||


[Kṛṣṇa continues] I will not drink the milk from any other cow, even if you process it in a million ways. The mother replies that the milk is from the same cow; but Kānhā didn't believe and asked Yaśodā again and again for a pledge.||2||


[Yaśodā says] Who is dearer to me than You? She tries to persuade Kānhā again and again. ‘‘Sūradāsa’’ says that mother brought the requested milk from the particular cow for Śyāma.||3||
