Aṣṭalakṣmīstotram

O Ādilakṣmī, Who is beautiful and Who is adored by the sages, Who is Mādhavī, Who was born with Soma (during ocean-churning), Who is golden in complexion, Who is a bestower of mokṣa that adorned the group of muni (sages), Whose speech is charming, Who is bowed by the Veda, Who is a dweller of lotus, Who showers good qualities and Who is worshipped by deva, Who is (joined) with peace, and Who is the enticer of Madhusūdana! Be victorious. Always protect (nourish) me.[1]

O Dhānyalakṣmī, Who is the destroyer of sins of snake like Kaliyuga, Who is beautiful, Whose form is Vaidika, Who is consisting of the Veda, Whose form is auspicious and born out of milk-ocean, Who resides in the mantra (chants), Who is bowed by mantra, Who is a giver of auspicious, Whose dwelling is in lotus, Who has feet which sheltered devagaṇa, and Who is the enticer of Madhusūdana! Be victorious. Always protect (nourish) me.[2]

O Dhairyalakṣmī, Who has a beautiful complexion, Who is Vaiṣṇavī, Who is the daughter of Bhṛgu, Who is embodied in mantra, Who is consisting of mantra, Who is worshipped by devagaṇa and Who is a quick bestower of fruits (results) and Who is expander of knowledge, Who is bowed by treatise, Who is the dispeller of fear of metempsychosis, Who is the liberator of sins, Who has feet which sheltered seers and men, and Who is the enticer of Madhusūdana! Be victorious. Always protect (nourish) me.[3]

O Gajalakṣmī, Who is the destroyer of misfortune, Who is beautiful, Who is consisting of treatises which bestow all kind of fruits (desires), Who is bowed by the entire world and Who is decorated with attendants surrounded by chariots, elephants, horses, etc., Who is duly worshipped by Hari, Śiva and Brahmā, Who is serviced, Who is the dispeller of pain, Who has beautiful feet, and Who is the enticer of Madhusūdana! Be victorious. Always protect (nourish) me.[4]

O Santānalakṣmī, Whose vehicle is an owl, Who is fascinating, Who has cakra in hand, Who increases feelings (or passion), Who is consisting of knowledge, Who is an ocean of qualities, Who is the well-wisher of the entire world, Who is bowed by songs adorned by seven svara (sounds), Who has feet which are adored by all gods, demons, noble ones, best among sages and men, and Who is the enticer of Madhusūdana! Be victorious. Always protect (nourish) me.[5]

O Vijayalakṣmī, Whose seat is of lotus, Who is a giver of good fortune, Who is an expander of knowledge, Who is consisting of songs, Who is bowed by musical instruments which are fragrant and adorned by daily offered kuṅkuma dust, Who is glorified by the Kanakadhārā song and Whose feet is respected by Sage Śaṅkara, and Who is the enticer of Madhusūdana! Be victorious. Always protect (nourish me).[6]

O Vidyālakṣmī, Who is the ruler of saluting gods (or sura), Who is Bhāratī, Who is the daughter of Bhṛgu, Who is the destroyer of grief, Who is consisting of precious gems, Whose smiling-face is surrounded by tranquility and earrings full of precious stones, Who is the giver of new treasures, Who is the absolver of malice of Kaliyuga, Who has hands which are giver of desired fruits (wishes), and Who is the enticer of Madhusūdana! Be victorious. Always protect (nourish) me.[7]

O Dhanalakṣmī, Who is consisting of (full of) dhimi and dhindhimi sounds from a dundubhi (large kettledrum), Who is bowed by pleasing instruments and conch’s ghuma and ghuṅghuma sounds, Who is worshipped by Veda, Purāṇa and history and Who has the power to make visible the knowledge of Veda, and Who is the enticer of Madhusūdana! Be victorious. Always protect (nourish) me.[8]
