Kāmākṣyaṣṭakam

I extol Kāmākṣī, Who is a dweller of Śrīkāñcīpuram, Who is venerable, Who is situated in the middle of Śrīcakra, Who is a benefactor, Whose crest is beautiful and enticing, Who is decked by saffron attire, Whose twin feet are worshipped by Lakṣmī, Sarasvatī and Śaci, Whose smile is enticing, Whose radiance is beautiful, Who is compassion personified, Who possesses fortune, Who is Parā, and Who is (my) Iṣṭadevatā.[1]

I extol Kāmākṣī, Whose shoulders have a necklace of pearls, Who is moon-faced, Who is dear to Śambhu, Who is beautiful, Who is Śarvāṇī, Whose hands are adorned with a bow and an arrow, Whose face is round like the cold-rayed moon, Who is a relisher of songs sung with lute (vīṇā), Who is resplendent like lightening, Who is compassion personified, Who possesses fortune, Who is Parā, and Who is (my) Iṣṭadevatā.[2]

I extol Kāmākṣī, Who is of dark complexion, Whose hips are beautiful, Whose arms are long (or strong), Whose forehead has the moon, Who is Śiva, Whose beautiful bluish form is embraced by Śarva (Śiva), Who is tranquil, Whose lips are like new flower, Who is Bālā, Who is pleasing with radiance similar to a young tamāla plant, Whose lips are bright like a young (rising) sun, Who is compassion personified, Who possesses fortune, Who is Parā, and Who is (my) Iṣṭadevatā.[3]

I extol Kāmākṣī, Who by līlā has created millions of beings, Who is cidrūpiṇī (the Brahman), Who is Śaṅkarī (or does welfare of everyone), Who is Brahmāṇī, Who is the destroyer of disease of metempsychosis, Who is grand, Who is endless (eternal), Who is the Goddess and sister of Mādhava, Who is a doer of auspicious, Who is pure and five-syllabled, Who is compassion personified, Who possesses fortune, Who is Parā, and Who is (my) Iṣṭadevatā.[4]

I extol Kāmākṣī, Who is Vāmā, Whose eyes are like lotus, Who is completely worshipped by Hari, Hara, Brahmā and Indra, Who is the giver of nectar of compassion, Who is present in all qualities, Who is Kātyāyanī (Durgā), Who is the essential Brahman, Who is noble, Who is the killer of Śumbha, Who is divine, Who is Kāmeśvarī, Who is divinity, Who is compassion personified, Who possesses fortune, Who is Parā, and Who is (my) Iṣṭadevatā.[5]

I extol Kāmākṣī, Who is beautiful, Whose neck is decorated with gold and jewels, Who is a giver of good fortune and liberation, Who is Kaumārī, Who is the consort of Śiva (finisher of Tripurāsura), Whose complexion is like line of clouds, Who is Candikā, Who is the Goddess residing in the lotus-heart of Śaṅkara, Who is the destroyer of all faults, Who is blissful, Who is compassion personified, Who possesses fortune, Who is Parā, and Who is (my) Iṣṭadevatā.[6]

I extol Kāmākṣī, Who is tranquil, Whose two eyes are beautiful and unsteady, Who is the daughter of Himālaya (king of mountains), Who is Śivā, Who is Vārāhī, Who is the ender of demons, Who has three eyes, Who is essentially in everything, Who is Mādhavī, Who is placid, Who is the daughter of ocean, Whose face is like lotus, Who is the controller of speech, Who is Ambikā, Who is compassion personified, Who possesses fortune, Who is Parā, and Who is (my) Iṣṭadevatā.[7]

I extol Kāmākṣī, Whose three eyes are the sun, the moon and the fire, Whose breasts are full, Who is the mountain from which the moon like beauty rises, Who is knowledge, Who is a dweller of Mount Vindhya, Who is dear like life to the absolver of Pura, Who is beautiful, Who is continuously enticing Śiva by a beautiful and smiling gaze, Who is compassion personified, Who possesses fortune, Who is Parā, and Who is (my) Iṣṭadevatā.[8]
